August Birchbox time
I got my Birchbox last week but was so uninterested in the contents that I put it aside and barely looked at it.
1. Catherine Malandrino Style de Paris Fragrance: This smells like Viva la Juicy by Juicy Couture. I feel like I keep getting similar smelling fragrance samples from Ipsy & Birchbox.
2. Marcelle BB Cream Golden Glow: Yet another BB cream. This one has the coverage of a tinted moisturizer. I don't really notice a "golden glow."
3. Noir Cosmetics Long-Wear Eyeliner in Forever Noir: This is probably the best product in the whole box. It's just your typical long-wear liner in black. Below: the top swatch was vigorously rubbed after I allowed it to set for about 30 seconds. The bottom swatch is freshly applies and untouched.
4. Not Soap, Radio Body Wash: First of all, this sounds like a Indie band from Brooklyn. The is just a body wash with a fresh scent. Reminds me of cheap shampoo.
5. SeaRx Birch Sap Moisturizing Lotion: This is a face & body lotion. Since the skin on the face and body are very different and have different needs, I don't really understand why you'd want to use one product for both. It's a lotion-y texture...nothing particularly impressive.
I'm starting to think that I might be over Birchbox, sadly. Lately I'm just very unimpressed with my boxes. Anyone else having this experience with Birchbox???
