Lip Monthly, 1st box!
I was watching a video on YouTube last month where I heard about a new subscription service called Lip Monthly. I noticed that the YouTuber received multiple full-sized lip products and I was immediately curious! I decided that I'd give it a try. I received my first box this week. Here's what I got.
1. Appeal Cosmetics Red Light District: This opaque, yet light-weight formula is a bright true red. It's pretty comfortably.
2. City Color Cosmetics Lip Lush in Mahogany: This formula is sheer and sort of dry finish. Brown is not a color that I've really worn since the 90's so I doubt that I'll get any use out of it.
3. Stila Lip Glaze Stick in Orange: This is a slick, glossy formula with a bit of heft to it. The shade is an orange-red with some sparkles/glitter. I'm not a huge fan of glitter in lip products but it's not too noticeable once on the lips. Though it feels slightly heavy on the lips it's not really uncomfortable.
4. City Color Cosmetics Lip Balm in Light Pink: This formula reminds me of some of the lighter shades in the Revlon Lip Butter line. It's not too heavy but seems to collect in the creases of the lips so you need to blend it in a bit with your finger. The shade is a pretty neutral toned light pink.
Bonus: Frizz-Ease Straight Fixation: I don't use a lot of hair styling products. I do not try to get my hair straight in this humidity so this one will have to wait until Fall!
|Closer look at the actual lip products
I believe that all the lip products that I received were full-size, which was really an amazing deal for the price. Monthly boxes are $10 but you can get a discounted rate if you go for the multi-month plans. If you join right now, you can use the code "SUMMERLIPS" to get your first box for $5 which is what I did. I think that this box is a great deal. I believe that they will be working on customizing boxes based on preference in the future which is what Ipsy & Birchbox do. If you're a lip product junky like me, this is a great deal and I think you'll be happy with it. Give it a try here if you're interested!
