Nars Light Reflecting Pressed Powder Vs Wet n Wild Fergie Center Stage Take on the Day Mattifying Powder

I have yet another dupe to share! A dupe that has a savings of 30 bucks! I picked up the Wet n Wild Fergie Center Stage Take on the Day Mattifying Powder (mouthful!) because it reminded me of something that I already own and love and am about to hit pain on-- Nars Light Reflecting Pressed Powder.

Obviously the packaging is much more luxe with the Nars powder but I'm strictly making this comparison based on the actual product and it's performance on the skin. I attempted to photograph a comparison swatch of the two products but it was pretty much a futile effort because they both go on translucently. So you get a side by side shot of both products instead. Pretty damn similar.

Initially I thought that the Wet n Wild product would feel chalky in comparison to the Nars, but I was pleasantly surprised-- I couldn't tell the difference. Both are VERY subtle micro shimmer which isn't detectable on the skin but is responsible for the light-reflecting properties that each product claims to have which give that soft-focus effect. I don't find that either product produces a truly matte finish, but it does take down any shine that I might have. I use both as an all-over finishing powder for the most part but I have tested both out under my eyes with great/same results (say hi to that soft-focus effect!).

Since there is no noticeable difference I would recommend picking up the Wet N Wild product instead of the Nars product. What you give up on fancy packaging is made up for by the fact that you have 30 extra bucks in your pocket. You can't beat that!

Love,
Michele
