Maybelline Dare to Go Nude Collection-- Limited Edition Color Tattoos

I love seasonal drugstore makeup. Maybelline's Spring 2014 Dare to Go Nude Collection contains several products: eye shadow quads, lip sticks, nail polishes, cream shadows. I love the Maybelline Color Tattoo cream eye shadows. I use them as bases and have even worn them alone-- I have an addiction to Bad to the Bronze. Whenever I see limited edition shades, I have to check them out.

This collection contains 6 Color Tattoos. I picked up 4 out of the 6. The 2 shades that I wasn't interested in were beiges. I already have several beige cream shadows so I figured that I could skip them all together. The shades that I picked up were: below from left to right, Caramel Cool, Sleek & Spice, Stroke of Midnight and Nude Compliment.

Caramel Cool is a gorgeous shimmery warm peachy cooper-- a shade that I've really been into lately. Sleek & Spice is a shimmery bronze tone very similar to Bad to the Bronze in the permanent collection. Stroke of Midnight is a matte black with subtle silver sparkle and probably the toughest formula to work with out of the 4. Nude Compliment is a light cool taupe with subtle shimmer. Swatched in the same order below:

If you already own Bad to the Bronze, you may want to skip Sleek & Spice because they are so similar-- Sleek & Spice is just a hair darker. Nude compliment is in a similar vein but is lighter, cooler and more taupe than both Bad to the Bronze and Sleek & Spice.

I was probably most excited about Stroke of Midnight when I purchased these products but it is the hardest formula to work with. Maybe it's because the base is a matte finish or just because it's a deeper, darker shade than the rest but I would have skipped it if I had known. My favorite is the Cool Caramel shade but, in reality, I'll probably get the most use out of the taupier shades: Sleek & Spice and Nude Compliment.

Love,
Michele
