Birchbox February 2014

It's here again-- Birchbox time! This month's Birchbox contains 4 deluxe-sized samples: a mascara, a nail polish, a hair oil and a mineral suncreen:

Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara in Jet Black: This mascara had a traditional bristle brush applicator but it's on steroids! The formula is not too dry, not  too wet and it is a very rich, pigmented dark black. I haven't worn this formula before so I'm not sure about wear, flaking, etc but I like what I see so far.

Ruby Wing Color Changing Nail Polish in Kitten Heels: This swatch was a matte, neon hot magenta. I couldn't get it to change shades with heat but maybe I need to try it on my nails to see the effect.

Beauty Protector Protect & Oil: This is a Birchbox exclusive. Haven't tried this yet but I don't like that there's no dropper to or eyedropper to dispense product. I can see myself easily spilling this or pouring out too much product. Wish this was a multi-purpose oil.

Coola Tinted Matte SPF 30 for Face: I've used this product before and really liked it. I like that it is a physical sunscreen as opposed to a chemical sunscreen-- find it's easier to remove. I'll definitely use this sucker up.

I'm happy with this month's box and think that I will likely use the products. I'm most excited about the Smashbox mascara and look forward to testing it's wear out for a full day.

Love,
Michele
