December Favorites

It's hard to believe that Christmas is already over. We spend so much time and energy gearing up for the holidays and then it's over in the blink of an eye...le sigh. On the bright side, I did get to play with a few gems from my collection this month. Read on.

1. Revlon Photoready Skinlights in Pink Light: This is a come-back product. I used it about 10 years ago and then it was discontinued. I loved the original for creating the look of a glow from within. The new version of this product seems to have a thinner formula and isn't quite as shimmery on the skin. I like to mix this with my foundation on the days that I'm feeling dry and dull.

2. Nars Light Reflecting Setting Powder (Pressed) in Translucent Crystal: I hated this product when I first got it. The powder seemed to have a hard layer over it initially that you need to dig threw with a brush...I know, weird but true. Once the top layer was worn away, the product applies beautifully giving my skin a flawless finish. I feel like it blurs pores and other imperfections while setting any liquid or cream products.

3. Buxom Full-On Lip Polish in Dolly: I have a couple sample sizes of this product in Dolly. It's a shimmery cool-toned pink. It's a really nice neutral every-day shade. The formula is slightly sticky which I don't mind as long as my hair is away from my face-- seems to last longer-- and has a slight tingly effect which I can live with.

4. MAC Cream Colour Base in Pearl: I love this product for creating a glowy highlight on top of the cheek bones and brow bones. I used it as a base for powder highlighters. the cream product in combination with the powder product really keep my highlight strong throughout the day.

5. The Balm Meet Matt(e) Nude eye shadow palette: This palette is all neutral, all matte. I love this palette yet I forget that I have it in my collection at times. I've been using it to create defined, matte eye looks that I've been topping off with a bit of glitter for some holiday cheer. They blend beautifully and the shade selections is perfect for neutral looks. Love this!

So that's it for December and for 2013! Wishing you all a happy and safe New Year. See you in 2014!

Love,
Michele
