L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara

Like I've said before, I'm a sucker for a new mascara. And my sister made me do it (hi Krissy). I picked up this mascara last week at CVS with a $2 coupon and $5 in CVS Extrabucks, so I paid about 2 bucks for it-- what a bargain.

The first thing that you will notice with this product is the asymmetrically flared rubber brush. It's supposed to give a flared out, fluttery look. Then you'll notice the intense scent of rose and how wet the formula is. I hate when mascara's smell like fake rose--yuck. And wet formula's don't do anything except take forever to dry, then smudge. See where I'm going with this?

I applied 2 coats. I couldn't seem to build much length or volume. Since the formula was so wet, I felt like my lashes were sticking together a bit-- not the look I'm after. Because the formula was never drying, it made it's way into my eye an burned and stung terribly, not to mention smudged up my liquid liner. Boo. Also, I didn't notice that the brush did anything special.

Current, after my initial impression, I would not recommend this mascara. Maybe if this formula dries out a bit and I'm able to build some volume and separation, I might like it better. But only time will tell. Literally.
