September 'Not So' Glam Bag

Remember when I didn't have anything nice to say about my September Birchbox? If so, this is gonna be like deja vu for you. Sorta. I think September was just a bad month for my subscriptions boxes.  Here's what I got this month:

• John Frieda Full Repair Full Body Shampoo & Conditioner
• It's So BIG Volumizing Mascara by Elizabeth Mott (insert a "that's what she said" joke here)
• Starlooks Kohl Eye Pencil in Obsidian
• NYX Eyeshadow single in Morocco

I've used the John Frieda set before-- I didn't see any noticable difference in volume or body. I already own the NYX shadow and have a unintentional back up from some other previous subscription box. The color is just ok. The color payoff is nothing to write home about. I've never heard of Starlook or Elizabeth Mott before. The kohl pencil is  pretty decent as far as kohl's are concerned. The color is not the inkiest black out there but it has a nice consistency and could create a simple smoky look if smudged out. Now the mascara I have yet to try. The wand is a typical bristle brush which is definitely my preference. I'll give it a go tomorrow and see how it performs (I'll edit this post with the verdict).

Overall, I was a bit disappointed in this month's Ipsy Glam Bag. I saw that one of the product options for this month was a Butter London polish. I really wish that I had gotten a bottle of that instead. Oh well, there's always next month to look forward to.
