A few of my favorite things, Part 3: Everyday eyes

I don't wear eyeshadow every day. I'm more of a mascara only kinda girl. When I find that I have a few extra minutes in the morning, I usually reach for these products.

1. Maybelline Master Precise Ink Pen Eyeliner in black: This liquid liner pen has a super tapered, flexible felt tip. It's really easy to control the application and to create a wing. And it's super black, which makes your lash line look very full.

2. MAC Eye Kohl in Powersurge: This liner is a beautiful antique golden bronze shade. It's a typical kohl-- very smudgeable. It's easy to create a smokey bronze look with just this one product.

3. Urban Decay Glide-On Eye Pencil in Hustle: The shade is a coppery bronze. It applies like a gel, can only be smudged right after application, then sets and doesn't budge. Adds nice depth to a neutral look.

4. L'Oreal 24 Hr Infallible Eyeshadow in Bronzed Taupe: This formula is basically a pressed pigment. This particular shade is a metallic cool taupe. The metallic finish gives it nice dimension on the eye and can easily be used on it's own. I apply this on the lid using a flat shader brush using patting motions, then used a pinched crease brush to blend the color out into the crease and slightly above. It's so cool how it looks as if I used a few different shades with such a simple application.

5. Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hr Eyeshadow in Bad to the Bronze: This cream shadow is a similar shade to the Infallible Eyeshadow in taupe. It applies easily and then dries down giving it decent staying power. I use this alone and as a base for other shimmer/metallic shadows. Lately I've been wearing it under the Infallible in taupe. It extends the wear of the powder shadow and keeps the creasing to a minimum. The color se

6. MAC Paint Pot in Painterly: This is a nude cream shadow. Application is very creamy but sets. I use this as a base with light colored neutral shade. It helps my shadow last and doesn't cause creasing. I like the paint pot formula just slightly better than the Color Tattoos. However the Color Tattoos cost $7 AND have a great shade selection, while the Paint Pots cost $20 with a more limited color selection-- which do you think I own more of :)

7. Tarte emphasEYES Waterproof Amazonian Clay Brow Mousse in medium brown: This product came with the double-ended brush in the shot. First, I comb through my brows with the spoolie end, I fill my brows in at the arch and tail-end with the angled end of the brush, and then comb through again to soften. I love the definition that I get with the mousse formula and it's more precise then a pencil.

8. Kat Von D Ladybird True Romance Eyeshadow Palette: This is a gorgeous palette of all matte shades. The formula is soft, pigmented and very blendable. I've been using these shades over my Painterly Paint Pot and they seem to last all day without fading. I'm in love with the rusty shade on the end called Cleopatra and the warm chocolatey shade next to it called Wolf. I use both to create a very warm, blown out crease. So pretty.

Whew...that was a long list. Next stop, lips.

Love,
Michele
