I've got mail!

My August Ipsy Glam Bag arrived this week. For those not in the know, Ipsy is another beauty monthly subscription service. It arrives in a bright pink bubble envelope so there's no missing it! Each month  members receive a "glam bag,"  a little make up bag, which contains a mix of personalize products in deluxe-sample size or full size. They include a good mix of cult classics and lesser known or up and coming brands, which is nice.

My glam bag for the month of August contained deluxe sample sizes of the above products: 1. Pixi Lash Boosting Mascara, 2. MICA Beauty Shimmer Shadow in Bronze, 3. Michael Todd Pumpkin Nutrient-Rich Facial Mask, 4. Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in 69 and 5. Smashbox Photofinish Foundation Primer.

Let me break it down for you. I'm not crazy about the makeup bag itself this month-- they're usually really hit or miss for me. I do think that I'll use most of the products in this month's bag. I already know that I like the Smashbox primer--I've used it before. I swatched the eyeshadow and I think it could work as a lid color with a deeper crease shade. I've been hearing a lot recently about Michael Todd Skincare, so I will give the mask a try. Love the UD lipstick shade-- a bright cranberry red. The Pixi mascara-- meh, I've never been too impressed with them in the past.

All in all, this month's bag was pretty decent. If I had to compare it to the August Birchbox, I would have to say that I like Ipsy better this month. I was more excited about the August Ipsy bag products than I was about the August Birchbox products. Maybe it was because Birchbox had more unknown-to-me products-- I don't know. Not that it's a competition. Though it could be. Maybe I'll have to do an Ipsy vs Birchbox Smackdown next month. Ohhhh, that could be fun!

Love,
Michele
